Pokémon Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Exciting Events Across Asia

The Pokémon franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a lineup of events and initiatives across seven cities in Asia, taking place across Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.

The event is set to be the biggest Pokémon celebration in Asia, with highlights such as PokéXciting!, Pokémon Run, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, shopping mall campaigns, and more. An official website for the Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary was launched earlier today in conjunction with the announcement.

“This celebration is a tribute to everyone who has journeyed with us over the decades. Whether you are a current Trainer or a longtime fan returning to the world of Pokémon, we invite you to join us for this milestone experience,” shared Mr. Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer at The Pokémon Company. “Of course, we’re also thrilled to bring the world of Pokémon to new fans in the Asian region. Therefore, we hope that this event creates a wonderful opportunity for people who are not yet familiar with Pokémon to discover it for the first-time.”

The Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary Official Site is currently available in multiple languages such as English, Traditional Chinese, Thai and Bahasa Indonesia. Visitors to the website can expect to see various starter Pokémon from different generations  adorning the page, along with party-like decorations and upbeat vibes. Other than major news announcements, visitors can also take a trip down memory lane to understand and discover Pokémon’s original history and storylines.

The Pokémon Company also teased PokéXciting!, one of the key highlights of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations. PokéXciting! will take over five cities across Asia with large-scale celebrations, with each city set to host its own unique Pokémon experience:
