Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is getting a new “Final Chapter” film, featuring a brand-new story from the series’ creator, Aka Akasaka. As the title suggests, the film will serve as the grand finale to the popular romantic comedy series.
According to Oricon News, the film’s storyline was developed by Akasaka and the anime’s production staff, and took over four years to complete. It is a sequel to the newly released Kaguya-sama: Love Is War: The Stairway to Adulthood, which follows lead characters Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane as they begin dating.
Akasaka commented: “I kept wondering what kind of extra addition I could make to a story that had already been closed once. It has been a time that feels both incredibly frightening and genuinely fun. Then one day, a single idea came to me. (…) Something new, yet nostalgic. I hope we can deliver a completely new work that will surely be the very last Kaguya-sama.”
Additional details, such as the film’s official title, release date, and production staff have yet to be revealed. More updates will be made via its official website https://kaguya.love/.
