Two New ‘One Piece’ Films Are In The Works, Releasing 2027 and 2029

During the One Piece Day celebrations held in Chiba, Japan, it was announced that two new One Piece movies are currently in production. The first, One Piece Film God Valley, will be released in summer of 2027; followed by One Piece Film Baad, releasing in 2029.

One Piece Film God Valley commemorates the 30th anniversary of the original One Piece manga, while One Piece Film Baad will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the long-running One Piece anime. The films follow the massive success of One Piece Film Red, a 2022 movie that earned over 20.34 billion yen in Japan.

The One Piece franchise is adapted from a manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for over 28 years. The manga, which is currently in its final arc, has surpassed 600 million copies in circulation worldwide, and has been adapted to an anime, a live-action series on Netflix, and even a Lego animated series.
