Garena Free Fire Anime Officially Titled Free Fire Daybreak, Premieres in Spring 2027

Garena and Kadokawa have officially revealed that the upcoming anime adaptation of the hit battle royale game Garena Free Fire will be titled Free Fire Daybreak. Alongside the announcement, the production team also unveiled a brand-new key visual, and confirmed that the anime is scheduled to premiere in spring 2027.

Free Fire Daybreak is planned for a worldwide television broadcast and streaming release, bringing the popular mobile game’s universe to audiences across the globe. The project is jointly produced by Garena and Kadokawa, with Kadokawa Qingyu serving as the production manager.

The anime will be directed by Ken Takahashi, whose previous works include Ragna Crimson and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya. Animation production is handled by Candy Box, the studio behind Blue Archive The Animation and Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!, while Sus4 Inc. is composing the series’ music.

Originally launched in December 2017, Garena Free Fire is a third-person battle royale shooter in which players compete on a large island, scavenging for weapons and equipment while fighting to become the last survivor. Players can adopt different strategies, from aggressive combat to stealth and survival, making every match a unique experience.

Since its launch, Free Fire has become one of the most successful mobile games worldwide. According to Sensor Tower, it was the world’s most downloaded mobile game from 2019 to 2021, while also becoming the most downloaded mobile battle royale game in 2022 and 2023.
