Independent production team Just Just Productions has announced that The Heir of Time, its original 3D-animated fantasy and science-fiction series, will release its pilot episode on August 29, alongside a Kickstarter campaign supporting the development of the wider series.
Set in a galaxy on the brink of war, The Heir of Time follows Sel, an elven princess born with an ancient and dangerous magic. As tensions grow between competing galactic powers, Sel must learn to control her abilities while becoming increasingly involved in the political struggles surrounding her fractured kingdom.
The series combines high fantasy with military science fiction, bringing together magic, advanced technology, interstellar politics and warfare. The August 29 launch will also mark the beginning of a Kickstarter campaign, giving fans an opportunity to support the independent team and help fund the project’s continued development.
Beyond the pilot, Just Just Productions is also developing additional content around the universe, including a behind-the-scenes documentary and a one-shot Dungeons & Dragons campaign planned for release on YouTube.
The Heir of Time is being developed independently by a team of filmmakers, artists, writers, animators and actors, with creators who have worked on projects involving companies including Snapshot, Sony and Netflix. You can learn more about the project on its official website here.
