Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale is bringing a full week of Mega Evolution-themed gameplay to Pokémon GO! Trainers can embark on a journey with their Kalos partner Pokémon, follow a branching GO Pass, battle powerful Mega Raid Bosses, and even take on Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y during the main event weekend.
Choose Your Starter
Your first major decision will be choosing one of Kalos’ starter Pokémon. Your selected Pokémon determines your GO Pass path, rewards, Mega Energy, encounters, and certain Deluxe rewards.
- Chespin → Mega Chesnaught
- Type: Grass → Grass/Fighting
- Chespin is a Grass-type Pokémon known for its tough, protective quills. Its final evolution, Mega Chesnaught, gains powerful armor and an even stronger defensive presence.
- Fennekin → Mega Delphox
- Type: Fire → Fire/Psychic
- Fennekin is a Fire-type Pokémon that uses the heat from its ears to release scorching air. Mega Delphox combines Fire and Psychic powers and fights with flaming branches and powerful fireballs.
- Froakie → Mega Greninja
- Type: Water → Water/Dark
- Froakie creates flexible bubbles that help protect it from attacks. Mega Greninja uses a giant shuriken in battle and specializes in surprise attacks.

GO Pass: Mega Finale
GO Pass: Mega Finale is a free, limited-time progression track available during the event. Trainers can earn GO Points by completing event tasks, including activities such as winning Mega Raids. Earning enough points increases your GO Pass rank and unlocks rewards.
The free GO Pass includes:

- Special Background encounters
- Candy and Candy XL
- Mega Energy
- Link Charges
- Stardust
- XP
- Additional rewards
The free track also provides enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your chosen starter once.

- More Mega Energy for your Kalos starter
- Additional Candy, Candy XL, and XP from Mega Raids
- Increased Shiny encounter chances

Mega Mewtwo X & Y
The biggest attraction of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale is the return of Mega Mewtwo. On September 5, Mega Mewtwo X will appear in Super Mega Raids; while on September 6 Mega Mewtwo Y will make an appearance. Trainers who defeat these powerful Raid Bosses will have a chance to catch Mewtwo with a Mega Evolution-themed Special Background.
Pokémon caught from Mega Raids during Mega Ascension and the Mega Finale weekend may also feature a new Mega Evolution-themed Special Background. When a Pokémon with one of these backgrounds is Mega Evolved, its background will gain special effects for the duration of its Mega Evolution.
