Hunter x Hunter Manga Resumes Serialization on June 29

Fans of Hunter × Hunter won’t have to wait much longer, as creator Yoshihiro Togashi is set to resume serialization of the long-running manga in the next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on June 29.

The return comes alongside the release of the manga’s 39th collected volume on July 3, marking the first new volume in nearly two years. The previous volume, published in September 2024, compiled chapters up to chapter 400, while chapters 401–410 were serialized between late 2024 and early 2025.

Despite ongoing health challenges that have led to multiple hiatuses, Togashi has continued to provide fans with updates through social media, frequently sharing progress on upcoming chapters. He previously confirmed the completion of chapter 401 and later revealed work on additional chapters, including chapter 405.

Following a hiatus that began in early 2023, publisher Shueisha announced that the series would no longer be bound to a traditional weekly schedule, allowing greater flexibility for the author’s health and production pace.

First launched in 1998, Hunter × Hunter has become one of the most influential shonen manga series of all time, inspiring multiple anime adaptations, films, OVAs, stage productions, and video games. Most recently, Hunter × Hunter The Stage 3 adapted the popular Greed Island arc, while the franchise also expanded into gaming with the mobile title Hunter × Hunter Nen × Survivor and the 3v3 fighting game Hunter × Hunter Nen × Impact.
