HoYoverse has announced that Version 4.3 of its popular sci-fi RPG Honkai: Star Rail, titled The Lethe Below the Living, will launch on June 1, 2026. The update continues the ongoing Planarcadia storyline, following the Trailblazer and Mortenax Blade as they explore the mysterious “World in Canvas.”
New Characters
Version 4.3 will introduce Mortenax Blade as a new playable 5-star Fire character following the Path of Nihility. His combat abilities revolve around deploying a powerful field effect, enhancing attacks, and building energy through ally actions to unleash stronger skills and ultimate abilities.
Players will also encounter Graphia, a legendary figure known as the “Mother of Imagenesis,” who is connected to the history of the Murata family and the mysterious Weathering Curse. Her appearance is expected to reveal new details about the game’s wider lore and several unanswered storylines.
Gameplay Updates
The update will also feature several limited-time events and gameplay additions. Players who obtain Mortenax Blade during the event period can receive a free Trailblaze Outfit item. Returning characters Yao Guang, Cyrene, and Phainon will also appear in upcoming Warp banners.
A new event called “Wispae Amusement Park” will allow players to design themed attractions and routes inside the World in Canvas. In addition, a new “Starward Mode” will be added to several challenge modes, requiring players to build three separate teams for different combat stages and offering additional in-game rewards.
Outside the game itself, HoYoverse also confirmed a new collaboration with UGREEN, which will include merchandise and promotional events in multiple regions. The company also teased the return of the Fate/Stay Night “Holy Grail War” crossover event later this summer, featuring Gilgamesh and Rin as playable characters. Gilgamesh in particular can be obtained for free through in-game events.
