All five CD albums from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will be released on vinyl this July 22, celebrating the launch of the new The Ghost in the Shell anime this July. It will be followed by a vinyl release of the original soundtrack for the 2004 OVA Innocence, happening on August 26, 2026.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex aired in 2002 on SKY Perfect Choice network for two seasons, with a total of 52 episodes. The series, directed by Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Production I.G, with music by Yoko Kanno, was not only a huge hit in Japan, but also saw great success worldwide, becoming the first animated Japanese film to be selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
In commemoration of the upcoming analog release of these titles, 14 total songs will be selected from the soundtrack and uploaded weekly on FlyingDog’s official YouTube channel, with the first track having been uploaded recently. Fans, and those unfamiliar with the series alike, can appreciate this opportunity to experience the musical world of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
