Great news for sushi lovers! The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur is collaborating with the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and Sushi Hibiki for the I Love Sushi exhibition, happening from 14 November to 31 December 2025 at UR-MU @ The Toffee, The Project Room, Level 4.
The I Love Sushi exhibition celebrates Japan’s most iconic dish as both a work of art and as a window into the nation’s history, culture, and way of life. It is the latest in a series of world tours which first began in 2022, not only highlighting culinary heritage, but also inviting reflection on food sustainability as well as cultural exchange.

The exhibition will open with an invite-only talk session and sushi demonstration featuring Chef Makato Saito Sam, the Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador, who will share all things sushi, the history, training periods for sushi chefs, and innovation in the crafting of sushi with audiences.
Once the doors open to the public on the 14th, visitors can look forward to a virtual reality “sushi shop” experience, educational video screenings, and detailed displays. Foodies in Terengganu and Sabah can also look forward to tour stops at their local state museums, offering a broader audience the chance to experience its engaging displays.
