Indie solo dev Zozo Studio have announced their second project, Overtype, an ambitious action-adventure roguelike set to challenge players in a vibrant, neon-soaked cyberpunk world where the keyboard is the ultimate weapon.
The game centers on Zyra, a young protagonist with a rare immunity, who is forced to navigate and survive virus-infected zones by typing. The core mechanic is unique and intense: every word typed unleashes power, every keystroke strikes an enemy, and every phrase becomes a spell in the fight for survival.

Gameplay Features
- Typing Combat: Players must strike, hack, and survive by typing fast and accurately to fend off waves of robots, cyborgs, and glitch-born horrors.
- Roguelike Design: Every defeat is a step forward, as death reshapes the world with new maps, enemies, and challenges, all while unlocking fragments of memory and new abilities for Zyra.
- Upgrades and Bosses: Players can enhance Zyra’s weapon with Eidolon Upgrades like Plasma Shot or Nanite Burst, expanding the typing arsenal. The game will feature challenging boss encounters against Archon’s elite commanders and towering bio-mecha, testing both reflexes and strategy.
- Total Typing Control: From combat and movement to interaction, nearly everything in Overtype is controlled by the player’s typing, making speed and accuracy paramount.
Fans can look forward to a demo on February 4, 2026. While the final release date has yet to be revealed, the game will release on PC via Steam, with plans for consoles in the future.
