Things to Look Forward to in Pokémon Sword and Shield

With so many new games on the horizon, it is undeniable that the newest generation of Pokémon is something to look forward to. We can’t contain our excitement to uncover more things from Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Here are things to look forward to so far:

Galarian Forms and New Pokémon

What’s interesting is that the previous generation designs are now different as they evolve into Galarian forms! Take a look at the Galarian form of Ponyta. Ponyta can be found in certain forest of the Galar region since ancient times. Rumour has it that they were exposed to life energy of the forest which made their appearance unique!

Also, 23 years later Farfetch’d gets a new evolution. Sirfetch’d, a leek-wieding duck, is exclusive to Pokémon Sword. Believe it or not, A Farfetch’d evolution was first created for Pokémon Gold and Silver but was eventually dropped before it could make its appearance.

Dynamax and Gigantamax

Just when you thought that Pokémon couldn’t get any more powerful and bigger with Mega Evolution, introducing the new feature Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing where Pokemon can become gigantic.

Dynamaxing will make your Pokémon temporarily grow in size when battling as well as changes their stats and moves. While Gigantamaxing may seem similar and also makes the Pokemon huge, it only applies to certain Pokemon. The appearance of the Pokémon may change to go along with a special move called G-Max.

Online Battle Stadium

What’s cool is that Battle Stadium allows you to take on trainers from all over the world. You’re able to participate in ranked battles against other players and even get a chance to earn items.

Online competitions will be hosted as well. If you are lucky enough, battling in the official championship could be a stepping stone for you to participate in The Pokémon World’s Championship, which is a great opportunity for those who take Pokemon battles seriously.

Of course, you’ll need a Nintendo Online subscription to unlock the Online Battle Stadium!

Max Raid Battles

What’s this? Max Raid Battles is a new multiplayer mode that utilises the Dynamax feature. This is the first time that Pokémon has ever implemented a co-operative mode where up to four players work together to battle powerful wild Pokémon and catch them. Keep in mind that when Dynamaxing, it will not revert back to its original form after 3 turns.

Pokémon Camp

With the combination of Pokémon Refresh and Pokémon Amie, you get to play with your Pokémon as well as cook curry alongside with them. This time, you get to have all six Pokémon out at once too!

So draw your sword and pull up your shield because our community event for Pokémon Sword & Shield is happening this 16th November 2019 at THE LINC KL. Entry is free, and there’s a ton of Pokémon-themed games, contests, and even a chance to try out and buy the new game!
