The most anticipated night in streaming is taking shape as The Streamer Awards have officially opened the nomination period for their 2025 show. Fans and viewers now have the opportunity to support their favorite creators by submitting nominations across 35 different categories.
The submission window is a critical first step in the awards process, with fan input being used to determine the final list of nominees for each award. To ensure all nominees meet a minimum standard of commitment, nominated streamers must have streamed for at least 200 hours in the past year for most awards. Specific game categories require at least 100 hours of relevant content.
The 35 categories cover everything from gaming genres to innovative new formats:
Top Honors
- Streamer of the Year: The best overall streamer of 2025, recognized for consistent entertainment and brand elevation.
- Gamer of the Year: Awarded to the streamer who showcases exceptional gaming skill and entertainment across multiple titles.
- Rising Star Award: Recognizes a streamer who began the year with under 1,000 average viewers and has shown rapid growth and huge potential.
- Best Breakout Streamer: Honors a streamer who experienced explosive growth, establishing themselves among the top creators in the past year.
- The Sapphire Award: Recognizing the best female or marginalized gender streamer of the year.
Content & Genre Awards
- Best Roleplay Streamer: For creators in games like GTA RP, Rust, and Dungeons & Dragons.
- Best Creative Arts Streamer: Recognizes talent in Art, Food & Drink, Dance, ASMR, and more (excluding music).
- Best Music Streamer: For those who showcase talents like singing, playing instruments, DJing, or producing.
- Best IRL Streamer / Best Reality Streamer: Celebrating creators who stream life beyond their desktop setup.
- Best Vertical Live Streamer: Acknowledges the most engaging vertical-format content on platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- Stream Game of the Year: The most entertaining, novel, or collaborative game to watch on stream.
