Tripwire Interactive has launched its first major free content update for Killing Floor 3. Dubbed “Rearmament,” the update is now available for free on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S systems, injecting a host of new features, weapons, and quality-of-life improvements that address community feedback.
Gameplay Updates
- Specialists and Perks are now decoupled, granting players unprecedented freedom in how they approach the Zed slaughter. Previously, a player’s chosen Specialist was locked to a specific Perk. Now, players can mix and match to their heart’s content, starting with the introduction of DJ Scully in Season 2 later this year and the Gunslinger Perk planned for 2026.
- Three new real-world-inspired weapons and a selection of accompanying mods are ready to make a mess of the Horzine corporation’s ultimate army:
- Streik Dual Defender Shotgun: Pure, twin-barreled carnage that turns anything in its path into mist. You can enhance its deadly power with an Extended Barrel or even a Quad-Barrel modification.
- M14 EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle): A powerful semi-automatic rifle designed to reward precision with punishing damage. It comes with mods like a Fast-Attach Suppressor and a Full-Auto Receiver.
- MKR-350 Assault Rifle: A reliable, versatile design that remains deadly in the hands of a skilled operator, featuring mods such as a Polymer Tip ammunition type and a Dual Mag.

- Adjustments for nearly every existing weapon in the game, with buffs that make underperforming weapons more viable, and only a few targeted nerfs for weapons that were overperforming. Furthermore, the Dosh cost for all weapon mods has been reduced, making it easier to customize and upgrade weapons earlier in a match. Zeds and bosses have also received consistency tweaks.
- Zed Bump Physics introduce a fun, new layer of interaction with the enemy, allowing players who slide into or fall onto a Zed that isn’t actively attacking someone to stumble, knock down, or even destroy them entirely! This new level of “physicality” opens up clever new playstyles for players who use movement aggressively.
