HiHi Studios, the media company co-founded by streamer and influencer Valkyrae, has launched its first project, a sci-fi thriller Webtoon series titled Bad Influence. The Webtoon, illustrated by artist Jor Ros and co-written by Orson James and Roman Calais, is launched in partnership with start-up studio Otherly Productions.
Bad Influence’s official description describes the series as follows:
“Weisshorn looks like a sugar-coated dreamland of smiling mascots, endless parades, and a Leader who loves you. But for Nel, it’s a lie. Branded a terrorist, she joins a rebel gang to tear it all down. The deeper she digs, the weirder it gets–strange visions, ghosts, and secrets buried for a reason. Some dreams are designed to keep you asleep. But if breaking free means letting go of everything that held her together? Then that’s the price.“
The first three episodes of Bad Influence are available to read now on Webtoon, with new episodes releasing every Thursday. Readers also have the option to unlock up to three additional episodes using Webtoon’s Fast Pass feature.
According to HiHi Studios, Bad Influence is designed for cross-platform expansion, with goals to expand further across short-form video, interactive experiences, merch, and long-form content. The company is also set to launch its first original manga series, APOLLYON, on GlobalComix sometime in 2025.
