‘Honor Of Kings’ Launches Its Biggest Update Yet In ‘Honor Of Kings Plus’

Honor of Kings has released its biggest update yet with Honor of Kings Plus. Launched on June 24, the free update brings sweeping changes, new content, and major improvements, all shaped by community feedback.

“As a live game the onus is on the development team to listen closely to player feedback and continue to evolve Honor of Kings,” said Game Producer Dean Huang. “With Honor of Kings Plus, we have really pushed ourselves to introduce new, groundbreaking and engaging content and refine existing features. We look forward to the response of the community.”

Flowborn

A standout feature of the update is Flowborn, a new in-game avatar system offering deep customization and adaptive gameplay. Unlike traditional heroes, Flowborn avatars are unique player-controlled characters with:

  • Customizable outfits, skin tones, hairstyles, and more
  • Personalized 2D posters
  • An adaptive combat system, allowing players to switch attributes and weapons mid-match

The update launched with the Flowborn Marksman, with the Flowborn Tank and Mage to follow this July.

Smarter Performance-Based Rewards

The new update also brings a more nuanced ranking system, rewarding individual performance even in defeat. Players will now earn Star ratings based on personal impact, not just match outcomes.

Performance metrics include:

  • Highlight Moments, such as clutch plays or solo objectives, which can elevate player ratings significantly.
  • Ratings scale from basic evaluations to SSS-rank achievements.
  • Even in losses, standout players can retain or earn stars, promoting fairer recognition.

In the global version of the game, the system will also feature more transparent point calculations compared to the Chinese release.

Real-Time Voice Translation

From June 24, players can communicate more easily with real-time voice-to-text transcription and translation, with the initial launch supporting Chinese, English, Indonesian, and Malay. More languages are in development.

Gameplay and Map Improvements

To improve overall match flow and reduce frustration, several battlefield elements are being rebalanced:

  • Mid Lane minions increased to four; Central River Sprite removed.
  • River and Space Sprites adjusted in terms of respawn frequency, abilities, and rewards.
  • Red Falcon mechanics updated for better pacing.
  • Super Minions weakened slightly to balance late-game pressure.
  • Turret Shield system revised.
  • Teleport skill made permanently available with improved visuals.

Honor Pass Revamp

The Honor Pass gets a major overhaul with a new mission system and better reward tracking, with experience now being earned via missions, campaigns, and highlight plays. Additional rewards include:

  • Free Elite Pass for all players who update within the first month
  • First new Pass theme: KWC
    • Level 1: Nuwa – Syzygy Moonlight skin
    • Level 80: Alessio – EWC skin
  • Deluxe Pass upgrade includes 398 tokens for future passes

Limited-Time Events & Free Skins

From June 28 to June 30, players will enjoy full access to all skins released before June 24 — including legendary and limited ones — completely free of charge.

Honor of Kings Plus has also launched a new event, “Want It, Get It!”, which offers players special rewards on the following dates:

  • From June 19: Players earn special event tokens by completing tasks.
  • From June 24: Redeem tokens for a 1688-token skin voucher.
  • From June 28–30: Use the voucher in the shop for a discount on eligible skins (excluding Yun Ying – Crystallight Spear).

The voucher applies to single-skin purchases with no minimum spend required.
