Rejoice, gentle viewers – Netflix has officially renewed Bridgerton, its hit historical romance drama, for a fifth and sixth season. The streamer also confirmed that the currently in-production Bridgerton Season 4 will be released in 2026.
The announcements were made during Netflix’s upfront presentation to advertisers, where the streamer premiered a new clip from “Bridgerton” Season 4. Vistors were shown a short snippet of Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek, as they attend a masquerade ball and catch their first glimpses of one another.
The Bridgerton TV series is an adaptation of an eight-book romance series by Julia Quinn, with each book following one of the eight Bridgerton siblings as they meet and fall in love with their respective partners.
So far, Netflix has stuck to the format by adapting each book to its own TV season. The series began with Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) in Season 1, followed by Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) in Season 2, and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) in the two-part Season 3.
The upcoming fifth and sixth seasons will presumably adapt the fifth and sixth books respectively. These are “To Sir Phillip, With Love”, which follows Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), and “When He Was Wicked”, which follows Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd).
Bridgerton Season 4 will premiere in 2026. In the meantime, consider checking out something from our list of Netflix’s May 2025 releases.
