Superhero comic publishing titans Marvel and DC are set to bring two of their most iconic characters together for a special crossover event this September 17. The crossover, which features Marvel’s Deadpool and DC’s Batman, will be the first of its kind since 2003’s JLA/Avengers.
The crossover event will feature two books, with one coming from Marvel, and the other from DC. The Marvel book, Deadpool/Batman, will feature writing from Zeb Wells (who also wrote the Deadpool & Wolverine movie) and seasoned comic book artist Greg Capullo (Spawn, Batman: The Last Knight On Earth, Wolverine: Revenge).
The DC side of things, Batman/Deadpool, is set to be written by comic book legend Grant Morrison (Animal Man, Doom Patrol, All-Star Superman), with art from Dan Mora (Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, Justice League Unlimited). The story will see Deadpool being hired for a job in Gotham City, which puts him on the radar of the world’s greatest detective.

Following the Batman and Deadpool team-up, fans won’t have to wait another two decades to get more Marvel and DC crossovers. Another set of crossover one-shots are set to be released in 2026, though details on which characters will be involved have yet to be revealed.
