Funcom has revealed what players can look forward to in Dune: Awakening, its upcoming open-world survival MMO inspired by the popular Dune novel and film series. The game is currently running a public beta from now until May 12, where fans are encouraged to play and share their thoughts ahead of its upcoming launch.
Beta Weekend Highlights

The Beta Weekend gives players a solid 20–25 hours of early gameplay, including parts of the main story and early combat. You’ll explore key areas like the Hagga Basin South Region and the Vermilius Gap, build with the CHOAM set, and try out vehicles like the Sandbike.
Fans can join the beta now by wishlisting the game and requesting access on Steam, or by signing up on the official website.
Full Launch Features

The full game adds much more, including:
- The complete story and hundreds of hours of mid-to-late game content.
- Nine new regions, including The Shield Wall and The Outlands.
- A full Overland Map and key social hubs like Arrakeen and Harko Village.
- Advanced vehicles like Ornithopters and Buggies.
- The Deep Desert, an endgame zone with weekly resets and massive faction battles over spice.
Players can choose to align with House Atreides or House Harkonnen, two houses that will constantly vy for political control, as the winning House can enact policies that affect everyone playing on their server.
