Dead by Daylight celebrated its 9th anniversary with an exciting appearance at PAX East, announcing new details for its Five Nights at Freddy’s and Witcher collaborations, updated quality-of-life improvements, and even a new choose-your-own-adventure experience coming to the game.

Five Nights at Freddy’s
Five Nights at Freddy’s Springtrap will be the game’s latest Killer, a collaboration that’s been a long time coming, as Five Nights at Freddy’s was also revealed to be the most requested license in Dead by Daylight’s history.
The collab will feature a Springtrap Legendary Outfit inspired by the “Yellow Rabbit” version of the character. Matthew Lillard, who played Springtrap in the Five Nights at Freddy’s live-action movie, also lent his likeness to the game and even recorded original voice lines for the Outfit.
Fans can also explore a new map featuring the iconic Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, complete with easter eggs and surprises.
The Witcher
The Witcher will arrive in Dead by Daylight as a series of outfits inspired by the game’s iconic cast, launching this 3rd June. These include Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, and Eredin, with Geralt in particular being a Legendary Outfit for Vittorio Toscano.
Dead by Daylight product director Rose Li described the Geralt outfit: “Not only will it let players essentially take on the exact look of The White Wolf, but we’ve also added some really nice details as part of this Outfit. Geralt will have unique lobby animations, and best of all, brand-new voice lines recorded for our game by the original voice actor, Doug Cockle.”
Quality of Life Improvements
Developers Behaviour reiterated its commitment to making quality of life improvements, introducing updates which would allow players to add more spectators to custom matches, and even play in matches while queueing for events.
They also plan to rebalance how map and key items work, as well as adding new anti-cheat measures that will hopefully reduce negative behaviours such as camping, slugging, and tunneling.
Choose Your Own Chapter
Finally, in 2026, Behaviour plans to create a new chapter DLC in collaboration with the community. Inspired by classic choose-your-own-adventure novels, players will shape the looks, lore and gameplay of a new Killer and Survivor through a series of choices, presented in narrative format.
