League Of Legends: Wild Rift Launches Patch 6.1 ‘Ascending Stars’

Riot Games has launched Patch 6.1, “Ascending Stars”, for League of Legends: Wild Rift, bringing players wave of celestial-themed content and gameplay update. The update will feature new champions, reworked abilities, and new game modes.

The patch introduces the “Dual Nova” theme, which transforms the game’s interface into a cosmic landscape. Players will navigate between the Challenger’s Star and the Adventure’s Star, unlocking various constellations that house in-game goals and rewards.

Champion Updates

Three classic League of Legends champions are joining the Wild Rift roster:

  • Ryze, the Rune Mage: An ancient archmage with potent area-of-effect abilities and a game-changing ultimate, Realm Warp.
  • Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare: A fearsome jungler who can plunge the map into darkness with his ultimate, Paranoia.
  • Zilean, the Chronokeeper: A master of time manipulation, capable of slowing enemies, speeding allies, and even reversing deaths with his ultimate, Chronoshift.

Several champions have also received balance adjustments and quality-of-life updates. Garen’s damage reduction and armor penetration are being enhanced, while Ambessa’s role is shifting from the jungle to the Baron lane. Minor tweaks are also coming to Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista.

Gameplay Updates

A new Bandle City-inspired Rift is coming to non-Ranked modes, featuring “Enchanted Gifts” that players can collect during the laning phase. Mage champions will recieve significant item updates, with the introduction of “Bandle Fantasy,” “Hextech GLP800,” and “Malignance,” alongside adjustments to “Boots of Mana” and “Ionian Boots of Lucidity.”

The launch of the Challenger’s Star also signals the start of a new Ranked Season, with updated rewards and a new Ranked store. Players reaching Masters and above early in the season will receive special bonuses.

The Adventurer’s Star, unlocking later in the patch, introduces “AAAARAM,” an augmented version of the popular ARAM mode, along with other alternate game modes like Hextech ARAM and Unbound Frenzy. Players can earn exclusive rewards, including titles and a new pet, by participating in these modes.

Cosmetic Updates

New Wild Passes will feature the new “Wondertown Twisted Fate” and “Battlecast Nasus” skins. A large collection of new skins will also be available, including fan-favourite themes like Soul Fighter, Mecha, Porcelain, Nightbringer, Dawnbringer, and Blood Moon.
