Larian Studios has officially released its final major content patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, now available across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Mac.
Marking a grand send-off for the critically acclaimed RPG, Patch 8 introduces some of the community’s most-requested features, including cross-play, a dedicated photo mode, 12 all-new subclasses, and an enhanced modding toolkit.
Patch 8 Highlights
Cross-Play Across All Platforms
You can now party up regardless of your platform of choice, thanks to the long-awaited addition of cross-play. Whether you’re on PC, console, or Mac, adventuring with friends has never been easier.
Photo Mode
Capture your most epic (or chaotic) moments mid-cutscene, during combat, or in the heat of dialogue. A full-featured Photo Mode offers a range of post-processing tools and even some whimsical sticker options.
12 New Subclasses – One for Every Class
Each of Baldur’s Gate 3’s 12 playable classes now features a fresh subclass, complete with new animations, effects, abilities, and even unique summons. For Paladins, the Oath of the Crown subclass also includes new voiced dialogue for the Oathbreaker Knight, enriching narrative possibilities. Here’s the full lineup of new subclasses:

Official Modding Toolkit Update
With Patch 8, Larian is passing the torch to the Baldur’s Gate 3 community. The revamped Modding Toolkit now supports partial level editing, allowing you to tweak existing items, characters, and environmental triggers. Quality of life improvements also make it easier than ever to build custom content and ambitious projects.
