OG Esports And Selangor Red Giant Esports Announce Strategic Global Partnership

Selangor Red Giants Esports (SRG) and OG Esports have announced a strategic global partnership, with the goal of improving both teams’ capabilities and increasing their presence in the Asia-Pacific region. A key aspect of the partnership will see Selangor Red Giants’ Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team being co-branded with OG for the rest of the year, with the team now being known as ‘SRG.OG’.

SRG is the esports division of local football team Selangor FC, which has seen incredible success over the past year, finishing in first place at the MPL Malaysia Season 13 and MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 tournaments, and becoming the first Malaysian team to win the M6 World Championships.

On the other hand, OG is a European esports team best known for winning the Dota 2 International in 2018 and 2019, though the team has faced challenges in staying on top due to multiple recent roster changes. The partnership will see SRG and OG sharing resources and expertise, aiming to strengthen both teams’ presence in the Dota 2 and Mobile Legends communities.

“We are incredibly excited to embark on this strategic partnership with OG Esports,” said Simon Lim, Team Director of SRG. “This collaboration represents a significant milestone for SRG, allowing us to leverage OG’s global expertise and resources to elevate our MLBB team and expand our reach globally. We are confident that this partnership will bring immense value to our fans and the broader esports community.”

Dan Sanders, CEO of OG Esports, shared, “Partnering with Selangor Red Giants is a fantastic opportunity for OG to deepen our connection with the vibrant esports scene in Southeast Asia. We are eager to share our expertise and collaborate on exciting initiatives, starting with the co-branding of the SRG MLBB team. We believe this partnership will create a powerful platform to engage with fans and drive growth in the region.”

Team SRG.OG will make their debut at the MPL Malaysia Season 15, kicking off later this April.
