The 97th Academy Awards, better known to many as the Oscars, celebrated the past year’s achievements in film last night on March 3rd. The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by comedian and talk show host Conan O’ Brian.
The big winner of the night was Anora, Sean Baker’s seventh feature film, which tells the story of a young strip club worker who has a tumultous love affair with a Russian heir. Baker won four Oscars for the film, becoming the second person to do so after Walt Disney in 1954; while lead actress Mikey Madison took home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
