Honda Is Making A Real-Life Koraidon From Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Just hours ahead of the February 2025 Pokémon Presents livestream, Honda surprised Pokémon fans everywhere by announcing that the company is working on a lifelike reproduction of Koraidon, one of the Legendary Pokémon from 2022’s Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

The Honda Koraidon is a collaboration between Honda’s Motorcycle and Power Products Division and its Innovation Research Excellence Center, inspired by Toyota’s 2024 recreation of Miraidon from the same game. Honda aims to include features such as moving limbs and expressive facial features, with the final product even set to weigh the same as the in-game Koraidon.

Honda will also utilise self-balancing technology, which it developed through research for the ASIMO humanoid robot, to allow the Honda Koraidon to walk on all fours and even stand upright on two legs, much like how it does in the game. It is currently uncertain if the Koraidon will be available for mass-market purchase, or if it will simply remain as a one-off display unit like the Toyota Miraidon.

Pokémon fans in Japan can also visit a limited-time exhibition of the Honda Koraidon at the Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo, happening from March 7 (Friday) to March 9 (Sunday).
