One Piece Log: Fish Man Saga, an abridged 21-episode version of the One Piece Fish-Man Island arc, will feature theme song collaborations between the series’ original performers and Hololive VTubers.
Throughout the month of February, Maki Otsuki, who performed the original anime’s first ending song “Memories”, will sing a cover of “We Go!” alongside Shirakami Fubuki, Houshou Marine, and Tsunomaki Watame, arranged by series composer Mine Kushita. The song will make its anime debut on February 2nd.
Later this March, Hiroshi Kitadani, the original performer of “We Go!”, will perform a new version of the song together with Takanashi Kiara, Hakos Baelz and Kobo Kanaeru, this time arranged by Japanese musicians Teddyloid and tepe. This song will premiere on March 2.
The collaborations are part of an on-going project where the anime will feature theme songs performed by different artists from January to March. The series previously featured a cover of “We Go!” from the anime’s main cast, as well as another version of the same song by Japanese Youtubers Hikakin and Seikin, which was performed alongside Luffy’s voice actor Mayumi Tanaka.
This is also far from Hololive’s first foray into the anime music scene. Hololive VTuber Mori Calliope performed the ending theme for Suicide Squad ISEKAI last March, while just last week it was announced that a new song from Hoshimachi Suisei would feature in Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX.
