The official website for the Kaiju No. 8 television anime revealed that its second season will debut in 2025. The website also announced that a new original episode titled “Hoshina’s Day Off” and a compilation film for the first season is currently set for a 2025 release.
Written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto, the story follows Kafka Hibino, who after ingesting a parasitic creature, gains the ability to turn into a kaiju. He must now navigate using his power while trying to become part of an organization that eliminates kaiju, all to fulfill a promise he made with a childhood friend.
Koki Uchiyama, known for voicing Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia and Toge Inumaki in Jujutsu Kaisen, will be joining the cast as Gen Harumi in the second season.
The first season premiered on April 13th, 2024 and aired for 12 episodes. The series was animated by Production I.G with Studio Khara in charge of kaiju designs and artwork.
