From now until 31st July, head on down to LINC KL for a celebration of pop culture, lifestyle, and art featuring Malaysian artists and creators! P.L.A.Y @ LINC is set to showcase a spectacular collection of artworks that showcase 22 talented Malaysians from various backgrounds yet share a common passion on pop culture, visual storytelling, comics and illustration.
This free admission exhibition is set to feature a wide array of mediums including sculpture, canvas prints and original artwork. The exhibits offer a glimpse to the artistic minds of featured artists, exploring themes ranging from satirical commentary, cartooning and pop culture theme illustration. Each artwork tells a unique story for its visitors.
This is the 4th PLAY exhibition, inaugurated since 2017, with the objective to celebrate and showcase talents of visual illustration and comics as an essential storytelling medium.
“We are honored to present this exhibition that features a wide range of Malaysian talents,” says Heng Kok, co-organiser and co-curator of the event. “From statues of pop culture characters to satirical comics style line art, P.L.A.Y @ LINC is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on those who visit.”
The exhibition artists roster is assembled by 22 talented artists featuring Adrian Tan, Aza, Billie Almashoor, Cross, Dark Kun, David Sundra, Ernest Ng, Faezal Tan, Jeffrey Ng, Jon Tham, Kulit, Kupeh, Lipwei, Leoz, Luqman Hakim, Mufizal, Niezam, Redcode, Shi Min, Soefara, Zainal Danial and Zid.
Each of them has achieved various forms of success in their respective field and are here to present their works to capture imagination, invoke emotion and thrill your senses.
Participating artist and co-organiser Adrian Tan also has this to say “I hope that the exhibition will inspire the next generation of artists and cultivate a healthy and vibrant art scene in Malaysia”.
The exhibition will be open to the public by 3rd July and officially launch on 6th July (Saturday) at 12pm at The LINC KL, Level 2 Event Space, providing an opportunity for visitors to meet creators behind the works on display. Additionally, throughout the exhibition, we will host Mini Comic Zine Workshops, Art Jamming, Art Contests, Weekend Bazaar and sharing sessions.
In conjunction with the exhibition, an event exclusive 48-page artbook capturing artworks of featured artists. You wouldn’t want to miss it!
