Indonesian-Made ‘Repeat After Death’ Is A Bullet Hell Of Your Own Making

Have you ever played a roguelike meets precision platformer meets bullet hell? Well, now you can. Developed by Indonesian studio Exploding Soes, Repeat After Death is an action arcade platforming game where your own actions become your enemy.

Your goal is simple. Make your way through the various dungeons and kill monsters with your attacks. Repeat this over and over again until you clear the dungeon. But beware, as the actions from your previous run will come back to haunt you in your next run. Dodge your way through the echoes of your own attacks to escape this looping purgatory.

Each cycle begins by selecting at least two out of the six character classes. Whether you prefer the speed of the rogue, the imaginative power of the wizard, or the entertaining mind of the jester, each class has different abilities and bullet spread patterns. The Mirror randomises a character at the start of each iteration, so there’s an element of randomness even after you build your initial party.

Once you die, the game isn’t over. Between each round, meet fellow dwellers around the dungeon to figure out why you were brought here and how to escape this never-ending cycle. At the same time, gather souls to unlock new upgrades and artifacts for different character classes to help you survive your next attempt.

With a total of three biomes to survive, and a mysterious story about your true origins, Repeat After Next is launching on Steam with a free demo you can try now.
