The sequel to Hades, the award-winning roguelike dungeon crawler, just dropped early access on Steam and Epic Games. Hades II is the first ever sequel from Supergiant Games where you play as Melinoe, the immortal witch Princess of the Underworld.
Besides a new main character, the sequel expands on the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections with the dawn of witchcraft. The early access version already features new locations, challenges, upgrade systems, side characters, and a new playstyle rooted in ancient magick.
The studio recently launched its Hades II Technical Test, giving invited players a first look at the gameplay and its cast of characters. Early Access launched two weeks later, following the approach of the original game where player feedback from Early Access shaped major updates to the game as it neared completion.
Hades II is expected to remain in Early Access until late 2024, with a final release date yet to be announced. The studio recommends most players wait for the full release before diving in, as the true ending of the story won’t be available until then. However, if you enjoy seeing the game evolve over time, Early Access is available exclusively on Steam and Epic Games.
