CinemaCon 2024 happened earlier this month, where the biggest players in the film and animation industry came together to celebrate the magic of theatre and share what’s coming in the future.
With Disney, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, Marvel, and more under one umbrella, all eyes were on what Walt Disney Studios had to present this year — and boy, there were some exciting announcements!
We compiled every single movie and animated film coming from the Walt Disney extended family, sorted in order of release.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (May 10)
Many years after the reign of Caesar, a new young ape named Noa (played by Owen Teague) goes on a journey that will lead him to question everything he’s been taught about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
Inside Out 2 (June 14)
Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust have been running a successful operation by all accounts. However, when teenager Riley goes to high school and a whole new cast of emotions show up, they aren’t sure how to feel. The four new emotions are: Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Envy), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser).
Deadpool & Wolverine (July 26)
The Time Variance Authority (TVA), a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline, pulls Wade Wilson from his quiet life and sets him on a mission with Wolverine that will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Alien: Romulus (Aug 16)
Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), the story concerns a group of young space colonists who, while scavenging a derelict space station, come face to face with the most terrifying life form in their universe.
Moana 2 (Nov 27)
Moana 2 takes audiences on an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Mufasa: The Lion King (Dec 20)
Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover and more star in ‘Mufasa: The Lion King.’ This animated film follows Mufasa, an orphaned cub, who becomes king of the Pride Lands after a chance meeting.
