The new trailer for Suicide Squad ISEKAI just dropped, together with the announcement of the ending theme performed by Hololive’s Mori Calliope. We get to listen to a short snippet of “Go-Getters” in the trailer, which features a catchy pop melody and high-energy beat.
Warner Bros. Japan also released a message from Mori Calliope on their official YouTube channel. “Many of you guys know that it has been a lifelong— death-long dream for me to make songs for anime and finally that day has come…Additionally some people may not know but I actually went to school for comics and thus I love DC, and I think that really it’s just a perfect match for me,” she enthused.
Mori Calliope is a VTuber and singer affiliated with Hololive English. Calliope’s VTuber lore describes her as “the Grim Reaper’s first apprentice”. Due to modern medical care causing a decline in the reaping business, Calliope decided to become a VTuber to harvest souls instead. Since her debut, she has release various death-themed music including two full albums, four extended plays, and one mixtape.
Arriving in 2024, Suicide Squad ISEKAI follows Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark as they are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies—an “ISEKAI”!
The series is animated by WIT STUDIO and produced by Warner Bros. Japan. The voice acting cast features Anna Nagase (Riko Amadai in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Harley Quinn, Yuuichirou Umehara (Goro in Darling in the Franxx) as The Joker, Reigo Yamaguchi (Sanders in 86) as Deadshot, Takehito Koyasu (Shigeru Aoba in Neon Genesis Evangelion) as Peacemaker, Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch in Code Geass) as Clayface, and Subaru Kimura (Aoi Todo in Jujutsu Kaisen) as King Shark.
