Buried under the metaphorical snow storm of the “Frozen 2” trailer, you may have missed some of these new trailers that were released last week. Besides the return of Elsa and Anna, Disney also released promotions for ‘Dumbo’ and ‘Aladdin’. Add on a smattering of horror with ‘Child’s Play’ and ‘The Curse of La Llarona’, and we’ve got a pretty wide spread ahead of us.
But we know how difficult it is to look past the ‘Frozen’ conspiracy theorists and overenthusiastic shippers. That’s why, we’re here to help. Without further ado, here’s all the exciting trailers you may have missed:
Aladdin
We may still be a few months away from this live action adaptation, but that won’t stop people from talking about it. Especially when it features a very blue, very incorporeal version of Will Smith. Honestly, we still don’t know what to think about it yet.
Child’s Play
Starring Aubrey Plaza in her first major horror role, ‘Child’s Play’ reimagines Chucky in a modern day and age. A great warm up for the upcoming TV adaptation, if you’re into self-torture that way.
Captain Marvel
Although this is technically not a trailer, we’re always in the mood for more Marvel. The new ‘Captain Marvel’ TV spot starts off familiar, but eventually reveals some never-before-seen moments of the character in action.
Dumbo
Don’t @ me on this, but ‘Dumbo’ is looking like the superior live action adaptation this year. And this sneak peek from Disney has only got us more excited for its eventual release.
Frozen 2
As much as some of you might want to let it go, it looks like ‘Frozen’ is here to stay. The viral teaser trailer takes the franchise in a completely different direction, exciting both fans and non-fans alike for where this sequel will take us.
Ma
This horror thriller stars Octavia Spencer as Ma, a middle-aged lady who seems way too willing to let a bunch of teenagers get drunk in her basement. It’ll make you think twice about partying, that’s for sure.
Detective Pikachu
There’s not much new about this ‘Detective Pikachu’ trailer, except it reveals what a Lickitung looks like in this universe. Let’s just say, it’s not the most pleasant sight.
The Curse of La Llarona
Probably the most “traditional” horror movie in this list, ‘The Curse of La Llorona’ is no Child’s Play, but it certainly looks like a good scare. And with James Wan in the producer’s chair, the nightmares are practically guaranteed.
So will it be horror or Disney for you? Leave us your pick in the comments below!
