TV network Syfy is collaborating with the original creators of ‘Chucky’ to bring the murderous doll to television screens near you. The series, simply titled ‘Chucky’, will be executively produced by Don Mancini who wrote all seven films in the original movie franchise. He will also be writing the script for this series.
According to Mancini, the TV adaptation will be a “fresh take on the franchise… while staying true to the original vision that has terrorized audiences for over three decades now.”
For those who had the pleasure of growing up without knowing this red-headed doll of terror, the original movie, titled ‘Child’s Play’, was first released in 1998. Its titular character Chucky was a children’s doll which was possessed by the spirit of a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray.
The movie was so popular that it went on to spawn six other movies with the most recent one being ‘Cult of Chucky’ in 2017.
How do you feel about ‘Chucky’ being adapted into a TV series? Will you be watching it, or is this all a big fat NOPE?
