Alongside their 2.0.0 update, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has added a snappy new character to their roster of fighters. Piranha Plant will be available for free to players who purchased the game before January 31st. For those who don’t meet that criteria, the character will also be available as paid DLC at a later date.
Based on the Nintendo Direct announcement last November, the character’s basic abilities include being able to lunge towards its opponents by extending its neck (stem?) Its special attacks allow it to spit out spiky balls and poison toward its enemies.
In addition to the new character, update 2.0.0 comes with some new changes to the Spirit Board which now allows 4 players to play at one go. New spirits will also appear in the shop, including Partner Pikachu, Partner Eevee, Dice Block, River Survival, and Golden Dash Mushroom.
