Hooded Horse and Eremite Games have announced that their roguelite city builder Against the Storm is getting an officially licensed tabletop adaptation through a partnership with Mindclash Games.
Titled Against the Storm: The Board Game, the tabletop version combines worker placement, resource management, city building, exploration, and adventure for 1 to 4 players.
Players will build settlements in a world constantly threatened by the devastating Blightstorm. The game features randomized resources, variable setups, and a deep economic system designed to reward adaptability and long-term planning. Players will also lead and unite seven distinct species, each with their own strengths and requirements.
Against the Storm: The Board Game can be played through standalone sessions, with randomized setups ensuring that each game offers a different experience. A campaign mode will also allow players to progressively uncover the mysteries surrounding the Blightstorm across multiple runs, eventually seeking a way to stop it permanently.
Against the Storm: The Board Game is scheduled to begin its crowdfunding campaign in May 2027. Fans can follow the official Gamefound campaign page for future updates and details about the tabletop adaptation.
