The WINGS Award will make its debut at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026, offering a €2,000 prize to outstanding games led by women and gender-marginalized developers. Organised in partnership with WINGS, the award aims to support greater representation within the gaming industry.
Applications are now open to eligible studios and projects, with submissions closing on 29 September 2026. To qualify, a studio or project must be founded or co-founded by women or gender-marginalized developers, or have individuals from these groups occupying key leadership roles.
About WINGS
The WINGS fund supports independent game development through project funding of up to US$500,000, alongside business support designed to help teams self-publish their games and establish sustainable studios. WINGS has funded over 25 games since 2019, including Malapata Studios’ Camper Van: Make It Home, Milktooth’s Bad Magpie, and Glass Head Dolls’ Prison of Husks.
The organisation follows a developer-first model, offering developers a significant share of revenue from the first dollar earned, ownership of their intellectual property and publishing rights, and control over their creative and business decisions.
