Duo Quest Launches September 16, Online Co-Op Now Available in Free Demo

Kuala Lumpur-based 1+1 Studios has announced that its co-op roguelite deckbuilder Duo Quest will launch on Steam on September 16, 2026, with online co-op now available in its free demo.

The new demo update introduces online multiplayer without requiring third-party applications, expanding the demo beyond its previous local co-op functionality. The feature has been highly requested since the game’s playtesting phase began in December 2025.

A Deckbuilder Built Around Real-World Relationships

Duo Quest puts the relationship between two players directly into its gameplay. Partners battle monsters while answering questions about each other, with their answers determining powerful attacks.

Its signature Bondbreaker mechanic combines relationship questions with deck-building strategy, rewarding players who know their partners well.

The game also features procedurally generated levels, five unlockable classes, mysterious artifacts and more than 1,000 questions covering over 20 themes, ranging from lighthearted topics to more personal conversations.

From First-Time Developers to Award Finalists

Despite being the debut project from its development team, Duo Quest has accumulated more than 27,000 wishlists.

The game received an Indie Wavemaker award for graphics, design or mechanics at Gamescom Asia 2025 and was named a finalist for Best Multiplayer at Gamescom LATAM 2026 and the SEA Game Awards 2026.

With the online co-op demo now available, the developers are encouraging players to test the feature and share bugs or feedback through the game’s Discord community to help shape the game ahead of launch.

Duo Quest Heads to Tokyo Game Show

1+1 Studios and publisher Rising Tide will also bring the full version of Duo Quest to Tokyo Game Show 2026, running from September 17 to 21.

The game will be playable at the duo’s booth during the event, giving attendees an opportunity to experience its relationship-driven co-op gameplay ahead of its September 16 Steam launch.

Players can try the free demo with online co-op now and wishlist Duo Quest ahead of its full release.
