EVANGELION 30th Anniversary Figures Reimagine Asuka and Rei as Traditional Japanese Dolls

A new collaboration between historic Japanese doll maker Yoshitoku and FuRyu’s premium hobby brand F:NEX is bringing a unique cultural interpretation to EVANGELION, with two 1/4-scale figures of Asuka Langley Shikinami and Rei Ayanami inspired by traditional Japanese dolls.

Created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the EVANGELION TV series, the figures reinterpret the iconic characters through the lens of classical Japanese artistry. The project combines Yoshitoku’s more than 300 years of doll-making heritage with F:NEX’s contemporary character sculpting expertise.

The figures are the result of a nearly two-year development process, with careful attention given to every detail, including costumes made using real kimono fabric, and poses based on traditional Japanese dance. The color palettes and design elements have also been tailored to each character’s identity.

International pre-orders are currently available through EVANGELION STORE (via Buyee support) until September 15, 2026 (11:59 p.m. JST).
