Wired Productions Brings Thai Horror Folklore to Life with ‘Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit’

Wired Productions has announced a worldwide publishing partnership with Thailand-based WereBuff Studio for the studio’s ambitious debut title, Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit. The cinematic horror adventure, steeped in authentic Thai folklore, is set to arrive on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2027.

The announcement comes just ahead of gamescom 2026, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the game firsthand at the Indie Arena Booth.

A New Voice in Horror Gaming

Wired Productions continues its commitment to championing distinctive voices across horror, dark narratives, and unsettling cinematic visuals with this latest partnership. Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit represents a significant addition to the publisher’s portfolio, matching ancient folklore with malevolent forces and a vulnerable spirit child that players will find impossible not to care for.

The game blends stealth mechanics, environmental puzzles, and tense platforming in a style reminiscent of genre favorites like Little Nightmares and Reanimal, but with a distinctly more sinister edge rooted in Thai cultural traditions.

Authentic Thai Horror for a Global Audience

For WereBuff Studio, the project represents a deeply personal mission to share Thailand’s rich storytelling heritage with the world. “With Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit, our goal has always been to introduce Thai horror to the world. We want to share the unique stories, beliefs, and folklore of Thailand in a way that can be experienced by players everywhere,” said Wyn Panichpakdee, Managing Director at WereBuff Studio.

“We’re thrilled to have Wired Productions as a partner who believes in both the game and our creative direction, and we look forward to bringing Thai horror to a global audience together.”

Wired Productions’ leadership expressed equal enthusiasm for the collaboration, praising both the game’s quality and the team behind it. “WereBuff have created something authentically Thai: frightening, beautiful and driven by a story with real emotional weight. They are a passionate team with huge ambition, and these are exactly the kind of partnerships we live and fight for,” said Leo Zullo, Co-founder and Managing Director at Wired Productions.

gamescom 2026 Presence

Players attending gamescom 2026 in Cologne will have the chance to experience Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit before its 2027 release. The playable demo will be available at the Indie Arena Booth, offering horror enthusiasts an early glimpse into this nightmarish world of ancient folklore.
