Montabi Brings Creature Collecting and Deckbuilding Together in New Tactical Roguelike

Indonesian indie developer Mankibo have officially released Montabi, a brand-new creature-collecting roguelike deckbuilder that combines strategic deck construction, monster taming, and tactical grid-based combat into a single adventure.

Players assemble a team of unique creatures known as Montabi, building powerful card decks by combining their individual abilities and creating synergies to overcome increasingly difficult encounters while fighting to save the city.

Build Your Dream Team

Each Montabi comes with its own exclusive set of cards, allowing players to experiment with countless team compositions and strategies. Every run offers new opportunities to discover powerful combinations and adapt to different challenges.

Evolve and Expand Your Deck

As Montabi gain experience throughout a run, they evolve into stronger forms, unlocking new cards and expanding the player’s tactical options. Choosing which cards to draft and how to shape each creature’s growth plays a key role in every playthrough.

Tactical 3×3 Grid Combat

Combat takes place on a unique 3×3 grid, where positioning is just as important as deck management. Players must carefully place their team and plan their moves to outmaneuver opponents in turn-based battles.

Choose Your Trainer

Before each adventure, players select a Trainer, each offering a distinct playstyle and strategic advantages. Similar to the king in chess, the Trainer must be protected at all costs—if they are defeated, the run comes to an end.

Blending creature collection, roguelike progression, deckbuilding, and tactical positioning, Montabi aims to deliver a fresh take on the strategy genre with high replayability through its ever-changing team combinations and evolving card mechanics. Get the game on Steam now.
