Kurechii, an award-winning Malaysian indie game studio, unveiled new gameplay footage and development updates for its upcoming titles, Postknight World and Abyssfall: Seekers Within during their recent Kurechii Next livestream. The showcase also featured new updates for Prism Arcana, the studio’s ongoing worldbuilding project.
Postknight World
Postknight World is a cozy 2D open-world RPG that expands on the foundations of Postknight and Postknight 2, offering a relaxing, exploration-driven experience set in the world of Prism. The showcase highlights a dynamic day-and-night cycle, alongside improvements to character behaviors and animations, which all come together to help the world of Prism feel more alive than ever before.
Lead QA Engineer Hian says that in a world where things can feel overwhelming, Postknight World has been designed to become a place where players “can just slow down, take a bit of time to rest, and be immersed in the world.” Postknight World is currently targeting Alpha Testing in late 2026.
Abyssfall: Seekers Within
Abyssfall: Seekers Within is one of Kurechii’s more ambitious projects, marking the development team’s first foray into a brand-new genre. Abyssfall is an action roguelite that combines party-based character switching with real-time combat on a grid-based battlefield.
Since its first gameplay reveal in 2025, the game has undergone extensive iteration, with the team refining its tactical combat mechanics while expanding the narrative. Players will get to experience both elements during Abyssfall’s upcoming Beta Test, with registrations for the test now open via a form.
Prism Arcana Shorts
Kurechii announced Prism Arcana Shorts, a dedicated YouTube channel featuring bite-sized adaptations of its existing worldbuilding videos, with the first episode available now. Alongside the channel launch, the studio has also announced a new expansion to the Bestiary section on the Prism Arcana website, giving fans the opportunity to learn more about creatures that inhabit Prism.
“Prism Arcana is where the world behind our games lives — the history, the places, the creatures, and the stories that exist beyond what any single game can hold. It’s a place you can explore at your own pace, and always find another detail, connection, or story worth discovering,” says Kurechii founder and director Yiwei P’ng.
