Hideaki Sorachi’s debut manga Dandelion will be adapted into a seven-episode anime series this April, streaming exclusively on Netflix. Sorachi is best known as the creator of Gintama, one of Japan’s most popular comedy anime and manga series.
Dandelion follows Tetsuo Tanba (Chikahiro Kobayashi) and Misaku Kurogane (Megumi Han), two angels who work for the Japanese Angel Federation’s Send-Off Department. Their job is to help earthbound spirits move on and find peace, listening to their regrets and helping them to resolve what’s holding them back.
The Dandelion anime will be helmed by Daisuke Mataga, with series composition by Yosuke Suzuki, character design by Ai Asari, and animation provided by NAZ. The anime will also include a number of anime-original episodes, depicting events and backstories that were not featured in the original manga.
