Touken Ranbu: The Musical “Gou On Stage” has revealed its upcoming May 2025 Zepp tour dates, with locations in Tokyo, Osaka and Malaysia. The Malaysian leg of the tour will take place at the Zepp KL concert hall in LaLaport Bukit Bintang.
Touken Ranbu originated as a turn-based gacha game developed by DMM Games and Nitro+, where players collect “Touken Danshi”, the spirits of ancient Japanese swords who have taken human form to fight against monsters. Players will also need to upgrade their troops, collect resources, and aim to collect more powerful units as the story progresses.
The game is considered to be a pioneer in the female-focused gacha game genre, having recorded 1.5 million downloads in 2016, and receiving a number of anime and live-action movie adaptations over the game’s ten-year history. It has also inspired a series of stage musicals that have toured Japan, China and even France.
“Gou On Stage” in particular centers on swords from the Gou clan, who discover a classic Japanese novel while cleaning out their storehouse, and decide to stage a play of their own based on the novel. Other swords such as Oodenta Mitsuyo and Suishinshi Masahide also end up coming along for the ride.
More details, including tour dates and ticketing information, are expected to be revealed in the future. Follow the Touken Ranbu Musical account on X/Twitter for more details.
