Indonesia-Made Idle City-Builder ‘Desktown’ Releases On Steam

Indonesia-based developer Deskteam have officially released Desktown, an idle desktop city-builder that started as a school project, and has since grown beyond the team’s initial expectations. The game is currently available on Steam, with a 40% launch discount from now until November 23.

Desktown is a cozy mini-planet that lives on the bottom corner of your screen. Whether you’re watching videos, working, or gaming, your little town continues to grow, turning your desktop into a charming, interactive space. Minimise the planet while you work, or expand into a vibrant full-screen view when you’re ready to see more.

Players can bring your town to life by placing decorations wherever they like, while also being able to sit back and relax while their town runs itself. Key resources like Population, Food, and Knowledge can be automated to keep things growing even when not actively playing.

More than just a game, Desktown can also be used as a productivity tool, with countdowns, alarms, Pomodoro timers, and other handy widgets to help you stay on track and manage your time effectively. You can even keep your mind active with word-guessing mini-games, where you type the correct words to earn bursts of valuable resources.

Desktown is now available to download on Steam. For more information, follow the developers on social media.
