The Final Patch For ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ Will Drop This April 15

Larian Studios recently announced that that Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 will be be released on April 15, adding a whopping 12 new subclasses and new features to the game. This update is set to be a momentous one for the community, as it will also be the last update Larian plans to make to the game.

To celebrate the launch of Patch 8, Larian will also host a special stream on their Twitch and YouTube channels, happening on April 16th at 1pm UTC. The stream will feature Larian comms developer Aoife Wilson, with a guest appearance from Senior Systems Designer Ross Stephens.

Here’s a quick list of all the new classes coming to the game:

  • Bard (College of Glamour): Heal allies with Mantle of Inspiration, which also gives them 5 temporary hit points. Should an enemy attack while this is cast, they will become Charmed.
  • Barbarian (Path of Giants): Gain a new passive, Giant’s Rage, which grants both Strength and Size, allowing you to deal additional damage with Throw attacks. Your carry capacity will also be increased.
  • Cleric (Death Domain): Gain a new cantrip, Toll of the Dead, which can cause 1-8 damage when you ring the bell of impending doom, a number that scales if your target has already been damaged.
  • Druid (Circle of Stars): Choose from one of three Starry Forms: Archer, Chalice, or Dragon. Archer deals radiant damage with astral arrows, Chalice restores hitpoints to you and others nearby, and Dragon allows you to deal damage with an added bonus to constitution rolls.
  • Paladin (Oath of the Crown): Gain Righteous Clarity, which allows you to taunt enemies with interrupts, and Divine Allegiance, which absorbs your allies’ damage while restoring their health.
  • Fighter (Arcane Archer): Banish foes to the Feywild, removing them from the battlefield for a turn, or unleash Psychic damage that forces enemies to make a Wisdom saving throw or be blinded until the start of their next turn.
  • Monk (Drunken Master): Gain the ability to consume alcohol straight from your inventory or drink from bottles in the overworld, which recovers Ki. Use Intoxicating Strike to generate a buff towards your Armour Class, or hit Drunk targets with Sobering Realisation to deal physical and Psychic damage.
  • Ranger (Swarmkeeper): Gain three new swarms: Cloud of Jellyfish deals extra lightning damage , Flurry of Moths deals Psychic damage, and Legion of Bees deals piercing damage. Each swarm can also provide you with teleportation capabilities.
  • Rogue (Swashbuckler): Toss sand at enemies to Blind them, flick your weapon at a target to Disarm them, or use the new Fancy Footwork passive, which prevents enemies from attacking while you deal melee damage.
  • Sorcerer (Shadow Magic): Gain Superior Darkvision, as well as the ability to Shadow Walk between places of dim light or darkness. You can also summon the Hound of Ill Omen to attack enemies, and use Strength of the Grave to avoid being downed.
  • Warlock (Hexblade): Gain the ability to curse enemies and force them to attack on your behalf, and raise dead enemies as a summon that can deal necrotic damage and provide you with healing.
  • Wizard (Bladesinging): Gain a new Bladesong ability that grants you supernatural speed, agility, and focus, plus a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make.

Patch 8 will also introduce a new Photo Mode that comes with a variety of camera settings, including a ‘Scene Setting’ option that allows you to pose your characters in action sequences. It will also support multiplayer cross-play between PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox consoles.
