Indian indie game developer Masala Game has revealed the release date for its cosy mystery adventure game, Detective Dotson at INDIE Live Expo, the premiere games showcase for indie fans. The game will be launching for PC via Steam on April 3rd, 2025.
Detective Dotson is a story-driven adventure game set in modern day India. Meet colorful characters and explore the richly detailed streets of India to collect clues. Complete evidence boards and solve cases as Dotson, the reluctant detective who wants to be a Bollywood star!
The demo is currently out on Steam, which will allow players to solve two mysteries: The Mystery of Mrs. Sengupta’s FOMO-mergency in the case of why your aunty was blacklisted from her kitty party, and Parth’s Pigeon in which you discover why your best friend is being harassed by a band of avian annoyances.
You’ll interact with a vibrant 2D meets 3D world, try out new disguises and take on new side-quests. While the demo has a slice of what to expect, the full release is a substantially bigger experience. The game also features an original OST made in collaboration with Nikhil Rao of Indian Ocean, pioneers of Indian fusion rock.
Masala Game was founded in Ahmedabad by BAFTA-winning and Oscar-winning game developer Shalin Shodhan, a veteran of Electronic Arts (Spore) and Pixar (Toy Story 3, Brave), Masala Games is an independent team of world-class game developers dedicated to crafting memorable experiences for gamers across the globe.
