Overwatch Season 13 Teases New Hero, Widowmaker Mythic, My Hero Academia & More

October is finally here — which means Halloween inspired content updates are coming too! Overwatch 2 just dropped the trailer for their spellbinding Season 13, featuring a witchy new Widowmaker Mythic skin, a new Junkenstein’s Laboratory game mode, and maybe even a new hero on the way?

Here’s everything you need to know before Season 13 drops this October 15th.

The New Mythic Skin, Spellbinder Widowmaker

Fans were expecting a new Mythic tank skin this season, but it seems like Overwatch 2 isn’t one for following their old patterns. Instead, we’re getting a witchy new Spellbinder Widowmaker Mythic Skin which can be unlocked using Mythic Prisms. With each new Mythic level upgrade, the Spellbinder skin evolves from a potions apprentice to a full-blown master of the dark arts, blending whimsical witchcraft with gothic elegance.

That’s not the only Mythic to hit the stores this season. Sharp eyed fans have noticed that Soldier: 76 is holding a different looking weapon in the next season’s key art. Just like Ana in Season 12, the Deliverance Soldier:76 Weapon Skin drops later in the season on 12th November.

For those looking to buy the Premium Battle Pass this season, Overwatch 2 has also teased the five festive Legendary skins you can unlock: Bog Witch Ana, Necrotic Witch Junker Queen, Witchbane Sojourn, Gnome Torbjorn, and Monstrous Sigma. You can get an early preview of the Season 13 Battle Pass skins and Item Shop skins on the Overwatch Cavalry news account.

The New Mythic Upgrade, Gilded Aspects

For those looking for more ways to spend their Mythic Prisms, the new season will introduce Gilded Aspects to the Mythic Shop. These are sleek black and gold colour variants for every single Mythic skin including the new Mythic Spellbinder Widowmaker and Mythic Deliverance Soldier:76 Weapon Skin.

The New Game Mode, Junkenstein’s Laboratory

No Halloween season is complete without the Halloween Terror event, and this year, the terrors have evolved. Enter Junkenstein’s Laboratory, a brand-new PVP mode where you can alter your hero’s abilities using cursed talent cards, turning the battlefield into a chaotic playground of haunted power. This PVP mode will only be available from 15th October to 4th November, so make sure to try it before it’s gone.

For those who love a good co-op adventure, fan-favorites Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride will also be returning all season long with new challenges, enemies, and bosses.

Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia Event

Revealed last month, the Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia collaboration event will begin from 17th October to 30th October. Battle as a hero of justice with Tracer as Deku, Reinhardt as All Might, and Juno as Uravity, or create chaos with Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki and Kiriko as Himiko Toga. Purchasing the shop bundle will unlock all five skins and additional cosmetics.

New Overwatch 2 Tank Hero Teased?

In the final moments of the Season 13 trailer, the new Overwatch 2 Tank Hero is teased with a piece of Phreak-y (we couldn’t help ourselves) graffiti on the Oasis map. From the sounds of it, Phreak is a Scottish hero that may be based on an old concept art from Blizzard’s cancelled MMO, Titan.
