TGV has officially announced that the Blue Lock live-action movie will begin screening in Malaysia this September 24. The film stars Fumiya Takahashi as Yoichi Isagi, alongside Kaito Sakurai as Meguru Bachira, Kyohei Takahashi as Hyoma Chigiri, and Kouta Nomura as Rensuke Kunigami.
The Blue Lock live-action film is directed by Yūsuke Taki, with Tetsuo Kamata serving as screenwriter, and features an original theme song, “Monstruo”, by Ado. The film originally opened in Japan on August 7, where it would cross the 1 billion yen (approx. $6.28 million) mark within just 19 days.
Die-hard fans of the series can also participate in special fan screenings of the film, happening at selected TGV outlets on September 26 and 3 October. Each fan screening ticket includes an exclusive lenticular card, tote bag, and two A3 posters inspired by the Blue Lock live-action film.
The Blue Lock film adapts an anime and manga series of the same name, which follows Yoichi Isagi, a high school football player who is recruited to a controversial program established by the Japan Football Union. In an attempt to find Japan’s best striker, the program has gathered 300 promising high school players in a prison-like facility named Blue Lock, where they must train and compete to become the world’s greatest striker.
