Marvel Rivals Season 10 is almost here, and NetEase is putting Gorr the God Butcher at the centre of its next major update. Titled Butcher’s Blasphemy, Season 10 launches on September 11, 2026. Gorr joins the roster as a new Duelist, while a fresh map, new events and major balance changes arrive throughout the season.
However, Gorr is only part of the story. Scarlet Witch is receiving a major gameplay overhaul. Strategists will also generate their Ultimates more slowly. Several popular Vanguards and Duelists are getting buffs or nerfs as NetEase attempts to shake up the current meta.
Here is everything coming with Marvel Rivals Season 10:

What Is Coming in Marvel Rivals Season 10?
Marvel Rivals Season 10 starts on September 11, but NetEase will spread its content across several weeks. The Season 10 roadmap currently includes:
- September 11 – Season 10 launches with Gorr the God Butcher and the Pajama Party costume series.
- September 17 – Stage 2 of the Marvel Rivals IGNITE Series begins.
- September 18 – Jeff’s Dream Eater and Jeff’s Superstar Seeking events begin.
- September 24 – The new God Quarry Domination map arrives.
- September 24 – Galacta’s Gift returns with a Costume Coin and refreshed exchange store.
- Season 10.5 – Path to Doomsday continues with two new game modes inspired by Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
There is one important change to the usual seasonal formula: Gorr will be the only new playable hero during Season 10. NetEase will not introduce another character in Season 10.5. Instead, the developers are focusing their resources on the two new Path to Doomsday modes, with the normal two-hero schedule expected to return with Season 11.
That may disappoint players who mainly return for new characters. However, Season 10 includes enough gameplay changes to make the slower hero schedule understandable.
Gorr the God Butcher Joins Marvel Rivals
Gorr joins Marvel Rivals as a Duelist who uses All-Black the Necrosword. His playstyle appears to focus on aggressive pressure and creating momentum during fights.
Gorr can reshape All-Black into different weapons depending on the situation. More importantly, defeated enemies can become Black Berserkers that fight alongside him. This gives Gorr a unique way to turn successful attacks into even more pressure.

He can also use Symbiote Assimilation to reposition around the battlefield, which should help him close gaps or attack enemies from unexpected angles. His Ultimate takes the concept even further – All-Black transforms into the Annihilablade, while every active Black Berserker attacks his enemies at the same time.
Gorr therefore looks less like a traditional melee Duelist and more like a snowball character. Once he gains momentum, he may become difficult to stop. The real test will be how quickly players can create Black Berserkers and how much pressure they provide during larger team fights.
What Is the Story of Marvel Rivals Season 10?
Season 10 continues directly from the events of Season 9. Gorr has already attacked the would-be gods of Thebes with All-Black. His crusade now moves towards Yggsgard.
His motivation remains simple:Gorr believes that mortals will always depend on gods as long as those gods exist. Instead of allowing that cycle to continue, he wants to remove the gods entirely.
His solution is the Godbomb. Gorr plans to use it to destroy divine beings across the Chronoverse. To complete the weapon, he brings the Faith-Harvesting Engine to the God Quarry, and also targets the God Tempest contained inside Mjolnir. Naturally, that puts Thor and Yggsgard directly in his path.

This story also connects directly to the new God Quarry map. Rather than introducing a location with little connection to the season, NetEase has tied the battlefield into Gorr’s plan. God Quarry arrives as a new Domination map on September 24. It gives Butcher’s Blasphemy a stronger narrative identity than a standard seasonal update.
Scarlet Witch Is Getting a Major Rework
Gorr may headline Season 10, but Scarlet Witch could have a bigger impact on the actual meta:
- Wanda is getting a new ability called Scarlet Hex. The ability sends a shockwave forward that damages enemies and applies a Chaos Mark. Her new passive then converts 25% of the damage dealt to marked enemies into Bonus Health. She can gain up to 50 Bonus Health through this effect.
- Chaos Control can now damage several marked enemies at once.
- Chthonian Burst will fire faster.
- Dark Seal is receiving an even larger change. Instead of repeatedly stunning opponents, it will now work more like an area-control ability. The initial hit still stuns enemies. After that, the ability deals continuous damage, slows targets and applies more Chaos Marks.
- NetEase has also changed Reality Erasure. The Ultimate will now damage nearby enemies during its four-second charge. Previously, Wanda relied heavily on surviving until the final explosion. These changes should make Reality Erasure more threatening before the final blast.
Scarlet Witch is also receiving some nerfs to compensate. Chaos Control deals less damage, while Mystic Projection reduces her movement speed more than before.
Even so, the overall update feels closer to a rework than a simple balance adjustment. Wanda now has more interaction between her abilities. Chaos Marks also create a clearer gameplay loop. That could make Scarlet Witch far more interesting to play against and control.
Season 10 Could Shake Up the Marvel Rivals Meta

Scarlet Witch is only one part of a much larger balance patch. Strategists will receive one of the biggest global changes:
- Healing will now generate Ultimate Energy at a lower rate. The conversion drops from 70% to 65%.
- Damage-based Ultimate generation also falls from 55% to 50%. The change means support Ultimates should appear less often during matches. That could create larger windows where teams can secure kills without immediately facing another defensive Ultimate.
Several Vanguards are also receiving significant changes:
- Captain America gets one of the clearest buffs. His base Health increases from 300 to 350. NetEase is also improving Vibranium Energy Saw and parts of his Team-Up kit.
- Emma Frost receives more Health, better Telepathic Pulse range and improved Carbon Crush mobility.
- Thor, Rogue, Peni Parker, Groot and Devil Dinosaur also receive buffs.
- Magneto is heading in the opposite direction. His Health drops from 650 to 600, and his defensive shields fall from 250 to 200. NetEase has also weakened his Scarlet Witch Team-Up.
- The Thing and The Hood receive durability and ability nerfs as well.
Duelists Are Getting Plenty of Changes Too
Several Duelists could become much stronger during Season 10:
- Wolverine receives more Savage Claw damage.
- Spider-Man gets a major cooldown improvement, with Amazing Combo becoming available twice as often.
- Iron Fist receives higher damage and a cheaper Ultimate.
- Star-Lord also gets stronger shields, faster mobility regeneration and increased Blaster Barrage damage.
Other Duelists are being brought down:
- Black Widow, Winter Soldier, Elsa Bloodstone and Magik are among the heroes receiving nerfs.
- Black Cat is another interesting case. Phantom Pursuit will no longer give her full invincibility. Instead, it provides 50% damage reduction and the Unstoppable effect. NetEase is also making her movement easier to follow through stronger visual and audio cues.
The change should give opponents more ways to react without completely removing Black Cat’s mobility.
Strategists Are Also Being Adjusted
The global Ultimate nerf is not the only change affecting Strategists:
- Cloak & Dagger and Mantis receive individual nerfs alongside the slower Ultimate generation.
- Jeff the Land Shark, Loki and White Fox move in the opposite direction. They receive improvements to healing, survivability or other parts of their kits.
The combined changes suggest NetEase wants to reduce how often support Ultimates dominate major fights. That could make positioning and individual ability use more important during Season 10.
Competitive Hero Bans Are Finally Changing
Season 10 also improves the Competitive ban system. Players in Gold III and above will now take turns banning heroes, following a 1-2-2-1 order. Once either team bans a character, the other team cannot select the same hero as another ban.
This prevents both teams from wasting ban slots on the same character, and also guarantees six different banned heroes. That should give Competitive matches more variety, especially after such a large balance update.
The combination of balance changes and improved bans could significantly change high-level team compositions.
Marvel Rivals Season 10 Looks Like a Meta Reset
Marvel Rivals Season 10 only introduces one new hero, but judging the update by its character count would miss the bigger picture. Gorr brings a distinctive Duelist playstyle built around pressure and Black Berserkers, while God Quarry expands the season’s story.
Several events will run throughout September, while Season 10.5 trades another hero for two new game modes. However, the balance changes may have the biggest long-term impact.
Scarlet Witch is receiving one of her biggest updates yet. Strategist Ultimates will appear less often. Several Vanguards and Duelists are also moving up or down the meta. At the same time, The revised Competitive ban system adds another major variable.
Together, these changes make Butcher’s Blasphemy feel more like a meta reset than a routine seasonal content drop. Gorr may be coming to kill the gods, but Season 10 could end up killing a few established Marvel Rivals team compositions along the way.
